Keisling to seek re-election to the House of Representatives

State Rep. Kelly Keisling (R-Byrdstown)

State Representative Kelly Keisling (R-Byrdstown) has announced he will seek re-election to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2022.

"It’s been an honor to serve the people of the 38th House District," said Representative Keisling. "My family and I appreciate the support we have received over the years, and I humbly ask for your vote this fall."

This year marks Representative Keisling's twelfth year as a member of the Tennessee General Assembly. As Chairman of the State Government Committee, he has worked diligently to ensure state government is held accountable on behalf of all Tennesseans. Keisling previously served as Chairman of the House Insurance & Banking Subcommittee during the 110th General Assembly.

Keisling understands the importance of protecting the integrity of elections. Just last year, he voted for the Tennessee Election Integrity Act which will ensure no fraudulent absentee ballots are cast in the Volunteer State.

Throughout his tenure, Keisling has supported investments benefiting Tennessee students, teachers and schools. He has championed initiatives to raise teacher pay, increase educational resources, and expand vocational and technical training.

In recent years, Keisling has supported community development by voting for passage of the Tennessee Broadband Accessibility Act which expands broadband internet services across the state, especially to Tennessee’s rural areas that lack coverage.

Being a good steward of taxpayer dollars and ensuring sound financial management is a top priority for Keisling. Every legislative session he has voted in support of a fiscally conservative and balanced budget. Tennessee has the lowest debt per capita, no personal income tax on wages and salaries, and no transportation debt.

He is pro-life and has been honored with the endorsement of Tennessee Right to Life. A champion of the Second Amendment, Keisling is a member of the National Rifle Association.

“I continue to be incredibly honored to serve as the voice for the people of the 38th District in Nashville," said Representative Keisling. "We have accomplished a lot, but there is still much work to be done in order to ensure our communities in Clay, Fentress, Macon, Pickett and Scott counties are the best place to live, work, raise a family, and retire. I am appreciative of your support and look forward to continuing my service in the Tennessee General Assembly."

Kelly Keisling serves as Chairman of the State Government Committee and Vice Chairman of the Joint Fiscal Review Committee. He also serves as a member of the Calendar and Rules Committee, Transportation Committee, Corrections Subcommittee, Departments and Agencies Subcommittee, and Public Service Subcommittee.
