NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Kelly Keisling, R-Byrdstown, today announced more than $42,000 for fire safety grants awarded to Scott County volunteer fire departments.

The grants are awarded through the Volunteer Firefighter Equipment and Training Grant Program, created by legislation overseen by Gov. Bill Lee and supported by Keisling in 2019.

The Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department received $4,250. Mid-County Volunteer Fire Department received $18,768. Windfield Fire Department received $9,695. South Scott County Fire Department received $9,932.

“These funds are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use with the purchase of equipment that will save lives. I am deeply grateful to all of our brave men and women in fire service who put themselves in danger by risking their lives to keep others in our community safe,” Keisling said.
